This bespoke installation was our first commissioned mihrab, created for a mosque in Birmingham and crafted entirely from solid walnut. The mihrab features intricate interlocking geometric knotwork, carefully proportioned and complimented with Kufi Calligraphy Ayat-ul-Kursi (Throne Verse), integrating harmoniously into the design to provide both visual balance and spiritual meaning.

Accompanying the mihrab is the matching walnut mimbar and two bookcases, designed to sit naturally within the interior architecture of the mosque.

This project marked the beginning of our journey in architectural mihrab design and set the foundation for the standards of craftsmanship and integrity that continue to define Al Ali Arts today.
